I'm no expert on matcha tasting notes, but I enjoyed this blend! It was bold enough to shine in my latte with soy milk and a bit of agave. I didn't think it was super astringent or bitter.
I saw a decent amount of reviews claiming this to be a high quality matcha, creamy, and complex. I received it yesterday, and just finished my first cup and was pretty disappointed. The color was pretty average green (no complaints), but my first whiff was quite astringent. I wasn't worried because there are mentions of lemon notes.
The color once I added water was quite dark, a very deep green. It was very smooth in texture, and whisked well. I added my oatmilk as I do with all my matcha every morning. My first sip was quite astringent. Maybe the lemon is overpowering. I gave a it some sips and opened my mind to it, but by the end I really did not find it enjoyable.
The flavor was not complex to me, instead it was purely astringent/lemon forward. I think it really is a solid quality matcha but the flavor is a miss for me.
