Producer Kumaさん's Saemidori (さえみどり) matcha represents the pinnacle of Yame tea.

Kumaさん follows a demanding, traditional approach to cultivating Saemidori. Before harvesting, young tea leaves are meticulously shaded with a rice straw canopy for 30 days to enhance the depth of umami and sweetness. The tea is then handpicked in a small batch and ground by a stone mill. The end result is a vibrant, bright green matcha with a floral aroma and buttery texture.

Each year, Kumaさん submits a small batch to Japan's National Tea Competition where it consistently receives recognition. In 2023, his Saemidori won the "Highly Commended Excellence Award" at The Leafies, an international tea competition held in the UK.
